Dr. Linda Robb Hahn Santoso

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Bestseller Status: Confirmed

A lifelong educator, Linda Robb Hahn Santoso earned a master’s degree in Literature and an EdD in Education, dedicating her career to teaching children in Nebraska, Kansas, and Jakarta, Indonesia. Her love of learning, commitment to service, and adventurous spirit shaped both her professional journey and her life beyond the classroom.

As a dedicated volunteer, Linda spent years working in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, and Ghana. Her solo travels and those with her husband have taken her to 115 countries across seven continents.

Her love of travel and exploration led her to Indonesia, where she fell in love with the country’s people and culture, as well as with Leksmono “Leks” Santoso, an Indonesian jungle explorer, master diver, and tour company owner, who would later become her husband.

Linda Robb Hahn Santoso makes her authorial debut with this deeply personal memoir, sharing the experiences that transformed her life and inviting readers to reflect on their own journeys by asking, Why not? instead of Why?

In her memoir, Linda recounts her first adventure in Indonesia and the life-changing experiences that followed. Now retired from teaching, she lives in Bali, Indonesia, with her husband of 30 years. Together, often accompanied by her son, Shawn, and daughter-in-law, Eileen, Linda and Leks continue to work, explore the world, preserve Indonesian cultures through their Foundation and the Ethnography of Indonesia Museum, and embrace new adventures, proving that life’s greatest journeys often begin with a single courageous step.
