Jonathan Troen is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and life coach living in Los Angeles. He serves on the Board of Directors for Mindful Valley and the Mindful Business Institute. He trains individuals and facilitates group workshops on creating true success in your life, including a life filled with joy and abundance. He also is co-founder and Chief Inspiration Officer for the organic snack company OM Snacks.
Jonathan began his journey toward teaching and coaching several years ago, after a successful career in the media/entertainment business, followed by a period of introspection and career path realignment.
He started his professional life in media as a radio producer, in Boston, Massachusetts. Seeking to broaden his horizons, he took his broadcasting work to England, Spain, and Denmark, before returning to the U.S. and settling in Santa Monica. Jonathan launched one of the country’s first Internet live music entertainment sites, which he then sold in order to begin producing television entertainment and documentary programs for several television networks. He has been a featured speaker at many entertainment and emerging media conferences, and was interviewed on various radio and television shows about his cutting edge-work in the entertainment industry.
His career was in full swing when he sustained an injury that required major surgery. As happens to many people, this was a life-changing event that had unforeseen consequences. It forced him to re-examine his own values and life direction, and he took up the practice of Iyengar to help his body healing. Along the way, a great sense of calm and balance took root.
Astounded by the impact Iyengar yoga had on his life, not only for physical health but mental health as well, Jonathan embraced the practice as an integral part of his life, and began teaching others. Today his precise yet caring style is inspired by many wonderful teachers, including Manouso Manos, Chris Stein and Eric Small. In addition, realizing that yoga alone may not provide all the answers to a person seeking a better alignment of personal goals and purpose, he trained and then became a Life Coach. With both life coaching and yoga, his work is aimed at helping clients overcome personal roadblocks and discover the joy that is already inside of themselves.
Seeking to help others find the balance he enjoys, Jonathan started Alignment For Life, which for many people has become the first step in creating a successful and fulfilling life.
