Bestseller Status: Confirmed

As a young girl, Vanessa Standard learned that hard work, commitment and dedication were the keys to moving out of poverty and into the life she really wanted. At the age of ten, in order to buy herself necessities like clothing and food, she became the neighborhood entrepreneur, selling greeting cards and candy, mowing lawns, walking dogs, washing cars, cleaning houses, and caring for neighborhood children.

During this time, Vanessa was living with a mentally unstable and drug-addicted stepfather who verbally abused and terrorized both Vanessa and her siblings. He also physically abused and threatened her mother’s life “if she ever left him.” The abuse continued until Vanessa was in high school.

As an adult, Vanessa became increasingly angry and resentful towards the world, and her relationships with others and herself reflected this inner rage. But her keen survival instincts kept her moving forward, searching daily for solutions that would help her resolve and ultimately transform her inner misery.

After finishing high school, Vanessa supported herself through college and graduated with a BA in Business. She then completed her Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. She continued on to earn certifications as a Life Coach, an Eastern Holistic Healer, a Matrix Energetics Practitioner, and a 500-Hour Trained Yoga Instructor.

Vanessa has worked diligently for the past 20 years, not only to heal her past issues and inner traumas, but also to thrive in life. And guess what? She’s doing just that!

Vanessa now shares what has helped her learn to be more loving with herself and others. Her positive outlook and innate ability to empathize and love has helped many people learn how to live an inspiring, satisfying and more purpose-filled life. An engagingly heartfelt speaker, she specializes in working with corporate executives and teams on the “soft or intangible skills.” She lives in Southern California with her husband of 20 years, their two children, and the family’s German Shepherd, Freddy.
